Transcription notes
Internal contradiction in the Morgan record: the 'NHD number' field reads 'NHD 170, II' while the 'Notes' field reads 'Only one state.' Recorded verbatim, not reconciled. Inscription: 'Signed and dated upper left, "Rembrandt f 1638".' Dimension '134 x 103 mm' unlabelled. Cross-check: One of only two impressions in this census with a recorded watermark, and the only one with a countermark description ('RP' with trefoil) - watermark evidence is the primary tool for dating Rembrandt impressions, so this is high-value. The record's internal tension between 'NHD 170, II' and 'Only one state.' mirrors the Bartsch/White-Boon vs New Hollstein divergence seen across the census.
