Transcription notes

Verso inscription transcribed verbatim by the museum: 'VERSO, upper left, in graphite: G. 6123 ; left center, in graphite: v[?] ; center, in graphite: B.20 ; center, in graphite: 18 ; lower left, in graphite: W. 20 ; lower center, in graphite: ober verk[illegible]ten ; lower right, in graphite: Re/2TT'. The 'B.20' and 'W. 20' annotations corroborate Bartsch 20 and (given the NGA's White/Boon no. 20) White & Boon 20. state_of_the_work is explicitly null - do not assign a state. Links to wikidata Q80019004. Medium ('etching with engraving') conflicts with the Rijksmuseum's 'etching and drypoint'. No IIIF manifest discoverable; three candidate URL patterns tested, all failed.

How to read this record

Every field above is transcribed from the holding institution’s own published record, in the institution’s own words. Nothing has been normalised, converted or reconciled — where a record is internally inconsistent, or disagrees with another institution, the inconsistency is preserved, because it is data about the state of cataloguing for this plate rather than noise to be tidied away.

If this record is wrong — and if you work at this institution you will know before we do — please tell us. Corrections are logged with their reason and credited.
